Program Overview
Ideate Assistance is a new, innovative program from Ideate, Inc. to help members of the AEC community become more employable in a challenging period. Currently, talented people are finding themselves without work. At the same time, our AEC industry is advancing. People with skills and expertise in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) are the ones prepared to meet the next phase of demand.
By offering free and very low-cost access to sophisticated BIM/IPD-focused products and training, and combining these with relevant networking opportunities, Ideate can help unemployed industry professionals improve their employability in this competitive job market.
The Ideate Assistance Program is designed to help unemployed members of the AEC community network and upgrade their skills so they may regain employment in the AEC industry.
Ideate Assistance works in collaboration with the Autodesk Assistance Program.
How to Register
To qualify for the Ideate Assistance, applicants must first enroll and be accepted in the Autodesk Assistance Program.
Enrollment in Autodesk Assistance requires that the applicant
• is currently unemployed.
• has been employed in the AEC community.
• completes all application requirements including contact information
• for the applicant.
• for the applicant’s former employer.

Receive Free Educational Software
Autodesk is providing 13-month educational licenses of one of the following to unemployed individuals in the AEC community at no cost through Autodesk Assistance:
• AutoCAD
• AutoCAD Civil 3D
• AutoCAD Map 3D
• AutoCAD Architecture
• Revit Architecture
• Navisworks

Applicants should note that the educational license for these products will indelibly watermark all files and applicants agree that software will not be used for commercial work.

Receive Low Cost Training
Ideate and Autodesk are partnering to bring AEC community members low-cost training through the Autodesk Assistance Program.
Qualifying individuals will have the opportunity to fill open seats in one of the following Ideate classes.
• AutoCAD Fundamentals
• AutoCAD Civil 3D Fundamentals
• AutoCAD Map 3D Fundamentals
• Revit Architecture Fundamentals
• Revit MEP Fundamentals
• Navisworks Fundamentals
The training fee is $249 to cover courseware costs and contribute to program management expense. Attendees taking advantage of this nominal fee enjoy a savings of $1300 to $1700 over non-Ideate Assistance registration fees. To enroll in this low-cost training Ideate opportunity, applicants must

Receive Free Online Training
Qualifying individuals may enroll in most Ideate online training classes fee-free
until March 31, 2010 through Ideate Assistance.
Ideate offers a variety of online topics of interest to Civil and Revit users on a weekly basis. More complete information is available on our Online Education page.
Receive Discounted Certification Exams Plus a $250 Hire or Rehire Incentive
Ideate, Inc. is convinced that Revit, Civil 3D, and AutoCAD professional level certification improves job applicants’ employability with many companies. Therefore, unemployed industry members who are enrolled in Autodesk Assistance can receive access to discounted certification exams offered at any Ideate location.
Those who pass the professional level certification are eligible for a virtual coupon with a value of $250 to be applied to Ideate Inc. services and/or products as an incentive for employers to hire or rehire.
Invitation to Networking Events
Industry members are invited to meet with their peers in the engineering and architectural community to network and share ideas.
Ideate sponsors more than 15 different free Autodesk software user-based events throughout the Bay Area and the Pacific Northwest.

Autodesk Assistance Program Employer Discount
Beginning June 1st, 2009 Autodesk will be offering discounts on new licenses (seats) of select Autodesk products for firms that hire Autodesk Assistance Program members, or for Autodesk Assistance Program members that need a commercial license (seat) of Autodesk software.
